EXHIBITION:
LAS 13 ROSAS Adriano Castoro
An exhibition of 30 images taken by the London photographer Adriano Castoro on the set of Emilio Martínez-Lázaro’s film Las 13 rosas (13 Roses, 2007).
Castoro’s pictures capture the spirit of a film that recreates the history of cruelty and injustice suffered by thirteen innocent women. A city devastated by the war, the gloom of the prisons, their clothes, the lighting, the sets... and the betrayal, the torture and the innocence, have all been recorded by this photographer whom, in scenarios where everything is in place, nevertheless succeeds in bringing a personal and not only descriptive angle of the film shoot.
The exhibition is completed with historical photographs, reproduced with the authority of the Fondo Fotográfico Martín Santos Yubero, housed at the Archivo Regional de la Comunidad de Madrid, home to the originals. Images of Madrid 1939, document of the entry of Franco’s troops to the capital, and of the so-called Victory Parade.
