DAM
The music produced by DAM, the first rappers to come out of Palestine, is a unique fusion of East and West, Arabic rhythms and oriental melodies mixed with the hip hop of western cities. DAM’s lyrics are, logically, strongly influenced by the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, although they also refer to controversial subjects like drugs, terrorism or women’s rights.
Born in the late 90s, the members of DAM are Tamer Nafar, his brother Suhell and Mahmoud Jreri. All three were born and raised in Lod, a city of mixed Arab and Jewish population 20 kilometres from Jerusalem.
